Relationships aren’t easy, they take work.

Sometimes people are together for years and decide to leave once it gets “Boring."

Sometimes people leave once things get “Hard.”

Sometimes, it feels like you can’t get ahead, you’re dodging bullets whichever direction you’re going in.

After this last year it has not been easy for him. He had moments of prayer asking “God why are you doing this to me?” “I want to be better. Show me a way to get out.”

Not even a day later, his prayer was answered, it wasn’t exactly the way he had planned. But, isn’t that how life goes? Maybe it’s not what we want or how we envision it to be but God does answer our prayers. It might not be the next day, because sometimes it takes days, months or even years.

Maybe you guys are just dating, you’ve been together for years or you’re married.

Don’t give up on your love.

It’s so easy to throw in the towel, it’s so easy to grow apart and not work on your relationship. Being with one person and staying dedicated to them isn’t always simple, it takes work.

You can easily read something on Instagram, the news, or Facebook and believe that it’s true, believe what it’s telling you.

That person's life can look perfect from the outside or what it’s portrayed to be. But it’s not, that girl, that relationship, it is not perfect.

People always say to me, “Oh my gosh, you and your boyfriend always look so happy” “You have the most amazing career.” “You always are dressed to perfection.”

Truth be known, I'm such an imperfect person, just like him.

Like I said, this last year has not been an easy one for us, God has tested my patience and my kindness at times. But, I have never stopped trying, don’t let your love dissolve for each other. In these hard trials it can either break your spirits and tear you apart or it grow you closer and stronger.

Always make the center focus of your relationship God.

You're not walking through this fiery furnace alone.

God never wants us to feel pain, sadness or regret. He knows our hardships, the things we struggle with, our prayers and what we need.

Maybe you’re reading this and thinking you and your boyfriend or husband will never make it work, too many things have happened or too many unkind words have been said, but just know you do not have to be perfect and you don’t always need to have it all put together. You’re going to mess up too, you are not there to be strong 24/7. You are human too, so don’t be so hard on yourself either. You two are not the only ones who struggle. You both are not going to have all the answers but love each other and trust in God first and the rest will fall into place.
