One thing I love about God is His kindness and how we are privileged to be able to extend a portion of that same kindness to others.

God's intention from the very beginning of time was to have a deep, loving connection with us. As believers, we can emulate having true connection with others by humbling ourselves and extending the gift of kindness.

Kindness is one of the most valuable, yet underrated gift that you could give. It holds so much power. Proverbs 18:21 tells us the power of life and death is within the tongue and in Proverbs 16:24 we see that words spoken sweetly have the power and healing to the body.

"Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." -Proverbs 16:24

I remember hearing proverbs 16:24 for the first time and being so taken back by the power of words, by how kindness can penetrate so deeply into our souls and very being. I always knew kindness mattered and my words were significant, but I never understood the intentionality that has to come before words flow from my mouth or spill from the tips of my fingers as I type.

The intentionality and way we speak to others and about others come back to biblical principles and understanding how God wants us to live as a child of his.

To act kindly is to display to fruits of the spirit onto others. Kindness is a fruit of the spirit which is a byproduct of accepting Christ and having the Holy Spirit dwell within.

God wants us to act kindly, being mindful of everything that we speak.

God wants us to act kindly, being mindful of what we speak. He wants to stay connected to us, but sin disconnects us. Sin is what devastates and destroys lives and gives birth to death. Sin separates us from God and people as well. I am not perfect, I fail, but I am so thankful for grace. However, grace doesn't give a permission to sin.

A leading and conviction the Lord has placed on my heart is to act kindly and be mindful of the words I speak. To shut down gossip, think before I talk and offer truthful words of encouragement. Saying the hard things that need to be said, in a loving manner and using my words to point others back to Christ.

That's why I decided to name and center my podcast, Instagram, website and whole ministry around kindness. @Inspiringhoney is for the intention of inspiring other to act kindly and share words that are soothing and healing to others. That's my challenge to you, speak kindly and build others up, even when it's hard.
