God's Definition of Beauty

What does beauty mean to you? Now- whatever you said, consider that it doesn’t matter what I, your best friend, favorite celebrity, or even you think beauty means.

God says,

“Your beauty should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” -1 Peter 3:4

Today, many girls are really insecure about their looks. I am just as guilty some days. The other day I read something that hit home. It said,

“What if you had just painted the most beautiful painting, you were so proud of it, but when you showed it to someone, they decide to point out all of the flaws in it. You are now so upset. As in this scenario, we are all God’s beautiful paintings, and when we point out all of the flaws in us, it makes God super sad.”

My great uncle always said, “pretty is, as pretty does.” It means the actions and things you do are what determines what you look like, because that shows you heart, which is most important in the eyes of the Lord.

Truly, isn't it the Lord's opinion the only one that matters?

After choosing to read this blog post, don't decide to continue worrying about your looks. When you are so concerned about your outer beauty, you may miss the many little beauties in life and forget out the beauty of a surrendered heart before the Lord.

Don’t worry about what I, or anybody else, thinks pretty is, those definitions don't matter. Open the Bible to see Gods very clear definition of beauty.
